Coast Guard Enlisted Association
COAST GUARD ENLISTED ASSOCIATION (CGEA)———————————————————————
The Coast Guard Enlisted Association (CGEA) is an organization conceived of and administered by the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association (CPOA) formally approved by the CPOA Board of Directors on 16 August 1991. It is a part of the CPOA, and as such, is qualified as a “Not For Profit” society as specified in Section 501(c)(19) of the IRS Code. It is not a part of the Coast Guard or other government agency. Membership is open to all Coast Guard enlisted members in paygrades E1 through E-6.
The CGEA focuses on professional development, mentorship, community service, and fostering camaraderie among Coast Guard members and their families. It organizes social programs, community affairs, and, along with the CPOA, advocates for enlisted personnel on Capitol Hill regarding military issues. Comprised of branches nationwide, the CGEA encourages mentorship from Chief Petty Officers to junior enlisted members. The CGEA serves as a crucial network for enlisted personnel to engage in community service and develop leadership skills outside of their daily duties.
